If somebody asks this question, that means they don't understand Chettiar-Mudaliar-Pillai (Dravidian) Movement and its+tamils' psychology. They still think that this is anti-hindu. It may be, as a consequence, to some Brahmins, but that is not the source. Maybe they are reeling under notions that 'Breaking India' has put into Indian dodos' heads. The vellalas wrote Breaking India so that people should hold outside forces like 'church' or 'missionaries' as the source of Nagarathar-Vellalar (Dravidian) Movement. Amazing how so many fall for it.
Real anti-hindu and anti-India forces of Chrislam do exist, BUT DRAVIDIAN MOVEMENT WAS NOT IT!!! Nagarathar-Vellalar (Dravidian) Movement and its hate is completely an insider job.
Also, Brahmins never had the authority to decide the inner rules in temples. The trustee is the final authority. The trustees have been feeding Brahmin hate to tamils. So, what do Brahmin geniuses of Tamil Country do? Instead of talking about this double game of the trustee chettiar/mudaliar/pillai, they say "Christian sell outs are trying to destroy hinduism". My ass.
Whats happening does not happen by your (Brahmins') orders. Your intervention is not going to change it. But your intervention/resistance to this will be show and portrayed to tamils as a blockade, by Nagarathar-Vellalar (Dravidian) Movement.
They will say - "See, how the Brahmins are opposing and resisting this".
You ask - "Ok. But that does not constitute an *obstacle*, technically speaking. If I do not like you having sex with your wife, if I detest it greatly, does that stop you from having sex with your wife? Does that constitute an *obstacle* to your having sex? No, right? Same here. Maybe Brahmins oppose all caste priesthood and tamil mantras etc. But that does not make an obstacle. You were always free to carry it out. You had to wait on nobody's orders. Even the court can't dictate to you. Why didn't you do it so far?"
They will say - "Brahminism is a very subtle thing. We were fearing bad effects or curses. Brahminism has entered into our fold. DMK was found by mudaliars, but even 'Congress' was filled with Mudaliars. There were Chettiar, Mudaliar, Pillai who greatly opposed this move of ours (Dravidian Movement). This is why we say that 'Brahminism' has seeped into and trickled down to non-brahmins too. We were fighting the brahminism which had seeped into our own groups."
What Im saying is...Chettiar-Mudaliar-Pillai are behind both Dravidian Movement (+ its brahmin hate) and Brahminism in TN. I don't mean 'Brahminism' in their sense, but Brahminism in the sense of the vedic Brahminical Hinduism culture. Chettiar-Mudaliar-Pillai (Dravidian) defined 'Brahminism', or 'Aryanism' as "the feeling that my caste is superior". Then, they said that this feeling originated from the Brahmins who codified it in Manusmriti, Vedas, etc. Then, they said, Brahmins took these scriptures to the kings, and that this "feeling that my caste is superior" slowly seeped down to others, and that this was how caste system came into being in India. This is their theory. As you can see, it is a setup purely for Brahmin hate.
This group kept vedic Brahminism alive in TN for centuries. They have been feeding Brahmin hate to tamils for one hundred years, but those tamils don't even know what that 'Brahminical culture' is, to begin with!! They need 'Brahmin' the most because that is the source of their superiority in caste ladder. That is what differentiates them from other tamils. They need Brahminism the most, but they also created one hundred years of Brahmin hate. They need it, but hate it fully.
They are behind both Brahminism (in the real sense), as well as the Dravidian Movement.
From Dravidian stage, they made a show of taking a few steps. Then, from the other side, they took steps to nullify those steps that they had made the Dravidian side take. But, they made it seem as if Brahmins were taking this counter step. They made Brahmins represent them. So that the Dravidian side could tell the people "See, Brahmins are stopping our steps and keeping casteism alive". But actually, it was themselves.
Now, if Brahmins look at the game, don't get involved, and expose this game, maybe we can make tamil demons see it. But, if Brahmins keep interfering and opposing Dravidian Movement, that will become a pretext for Dravidian side to show and tell the people "See how Brahmins are putting obstacles in our march to equality and social justice"

Nobody seems to get it. If something is currently in practice, it is because the patrons want it to happen that way. If its changing, its because the patrons need it to change. The brahmin could never influence it. Never had the power. But, the Chettiar-Mudaliar-Pillai (Dravidian) movement has been feeding hate to 4 generations of tamils, saying that Brahmins are opposing their steps towards social justice and equality.
If you press them too much, and say "but Brahmins could never be an obstacle. Their opposition doesn't constitute an obstacle.", they would reply,
"Okay, but the folks on our own side abided by the Brahmins because they respected them greatly. They feared to go contrary to their words. We were fighting the Brahminism which had seeped into our own quarters."
In reality, they have only been venting their infinite Brahmin hate to their heart's fill.
