A lot of people still search for some padre with flowy, long, white robes, and a Bible and cross in hand, standing behind Dravidian Movement, orchestrating every step. They think Chrislam is doing #drav in order to weaken Hinduism and India.
Reminds me of this joke.
Searching for anti-Hindu, non-Hindu chrislam behind Dravidian Movement is like searching a donkey for smuggled goods. It is the Donkey that is being smuggled. Similarly, the Dravidian Movement *is* the culprit. Chrislam forces are minor guests on the hosts that D Movement is.
Im not denying the existence of real anti-Hindu/India, non-Hindu Breaking India forces at work, but Dravidian Movement was not created by those forces. Dravidian Movement was forged by the local elites of tamil lands, with help from the British. That's how it started.
I think its a problem with English speaking Indian elites. They want to fight big, posh enemies, even if those enemies don't exist. They don't want to fight the local, non-glamourous enemies. A lot of people still go by the 'Breaking India' idea that Dravidian movt is a preparation for uprooting tamils from Hinduism, and prepare them to be transplanted to Christianity. Such an effort may exist, but its not the core of the Dravidian Movement. This is not the driver.
This is India's worldview; that if something is seemingly anti-Hindu, it must be from non-Hindu, non-Indian forces. I wouldn't blame them because they don't know anything else. They know only their enemy and they extrapolate that onto all other problems. They have to be made to understand.
India knows the anti-Hindu of Islam. India thinks Christianity is also like that. There has to be a feedback mechanism between different parts of India. It might be too overwhelming for any group, and it might also be forgotten quickly. So, people must sit together and sort out a solution for this feedback mechanism.
The so-called Christian forces are actually 90% Indian. The converted ones. 'Church' is not trying to destroy Hinduism/India using these guys. These guys, these 'Hindus' are colluding with outsiders for personal benefit/growth. Dravidian Movt was not even these guys. Dravidian movt was constructed by the most Hinduest groups of Tamil Nadu. And its not a stopgap arrangement for mass conversions.
But then, if, tomorrow, mass conversions do happen, don't blame the outsider alone.
