'Amma Vandhaal' ('Mother Came') is a famous novel written by Thi. Janakiraman. It is about a Brahmin boy who goes to Veda Patashala, who learns about his mother's extramarital affair. It maybe be put under the 'soft erotica' genre. It was popularly believed for 50 yrs that the author, Thi. Janakiraman, was hiself a Brahmin. But it turns out that he may not be. He's probably a vellala because only the vellala dogs of Tamil Country have a deep longing for that 'Brahmin' tag. Many saiva vellala dogs often identify themselves as Brahmin, opposing Dravidian Movt/Periyar while remaining aloof from the Brahmin hate side of it, or themselves indulging in subtle or open hate, like Thi. Ja, and Thozhar Marudhaiyan.
